CTET 2018 Notification, Eligibility, Syllabus Details:


CBSE/CTET/Sept.2018, Date: 29/05/2018.

The detailed Information Bulletin containing details of exam, syllabus, eligibility criteria, examination fee, examination cities and important dates will be available on CTET-2018 official website www.ctet.nic.in w.e.f. 12-6-2018 (Tuesday). The aspiring candidates are requested to download Information Bulletin from the above-mentioned website only & read the same carefully before apply.

The aspiring candidates have to apply the online-only through CTET-18 website www.ctet.nic.in. The online application process will start from 22-6-2018 (Friday) onwards. The last date for submitting online application is 19-7-2018 (Thursday), and fee can be paid up to 21-07-2018 (Saturday) before 3.30.p.m.

CTET Eligibility Criteria:-

Applicant needs to fulfill the below-mentioned requirements to appear for CTET-18. Please note that the CTET18 eligibility criteria depend purely on the Class for which candidate is applying for:

(i) Primary Level:-
Senior Secondary / its equivalent with at least 50%-marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45 %-marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)/ OR Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50 %-marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education OR Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

(ii) Upper Primary Level:
Graduation & passed/appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education / Graduation with at least 50%-marks and passed or appearing in 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) OR Graduation with at least 45%-marks & passed or appearing in 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

Senior Secondary / its equivalent with at least 50% marks & passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)/ Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50 %-marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed/ Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed.
Structure and Content of CTET:-
All questions in a CTET-18 test will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one (1)  answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking. There will be two papers of CTET-18.

(i) Paper-1 will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes 1 to 5.
(ii) Paper-2 will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes 6 to 8.

Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

Paper I (for Classes I to V) Primary Stage:
Duration of examination-Two-and-a-half hours Structure and Content (All Compulsory): (Appendix I).

i) Child Development and Pedagogy – 30 MCQs – 30 Marks.
ii) Language I (compulsory) – 30 MCQs – 30 Marks.
iii) Language II (compulsory) – 30 MCQs – 30 Marks.
(iv) Mathematics – 30 MCQs – 30 Marks.
(v) Environmental Studies – 30 MCQs – 30 Marks.

Total: 150 Marks

Paper II (for Classes VI to VIII) Elementary Stage:-
Duration of an exam – Two-and-a-half hours Structure & Content (All Compulsory): (Appendix I).

(i) Child Development & Pedagogy(compulsory) – 30 MCQs – 30 Marks.
(ii) Language I (compulsory) – 30 MCQs – 30 Marks.
(iii) Language II (compulsory) – 30 MCQs – 30 Marks.
(iv) Mathematics and Science (for Mathematics and Science teacher) – 60 MCQs – 60 Marks.
(v) Social Studies/Social Science (for Social Studies/Social Science teacher) *For any other teacher – either (IV) or (V) – 60 MCQs – 60 Marks.

Total: 150 MCQs – 150 Marks.

Qualifying Marks And Award Of CTET Certificate:

The candidates appearing in CTET will be issued Marks Statement. The Candidates securing 60% and above marks will be issued Eligibility Certificate.

School Management (Government, Local bodies, Government aided and unaided) may consider giving concessions to the person belonging to SC/ST, OBC, differently abled persons, etc., by their extant reservation policy.
Qualifying the CTET-18 would not confer a right on any person for recruitment/employment as it is only one (1) of the eligibility criteria for appointment.
Validity Period of CTET Certificate:-
The Validity Period of CTET18 qualifying certificates for appointment will be 7-years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories. There are no restrictions on a number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a CTET -18 Certificate. A person who has qualified CTET2018 may also appear again for improving his/her score.
